Goombay By Top Shelf Exotics.
The GoomBay has impressive visual appeal. It’s characterized by mint green buds with barbed purple leafage, singular ginger pistil hairs, and a bristling cover of trichomes over the entire surface area. The purple coloration is vibrant, ranges from lighter lilac to borderline black, and appears more frequently towards the base of the nugs. The trichome coverage is abundant and completely blankets some sections of the nugs.
The nose on Goombay is potent. It’s funky, slightly acerbic, herbal, and earthy, altogether. It has a GMO and skunk forward that is highly kushy and musty. It has faint notes of sweet fermented fruit that doesn’t really provide contrast, so much as adds to the curious complexity of the profile. It’s musty, earthy, and slightly spicy when broken and leaves a musty kush smell on the fingers.
The taste on the Goombay is just as commanding as the smell. Primarily, the profile is heavy on the GMO and kush with layers of skunk, funk, must, and dust. It has notes of unleaded fuel and savoriness that pairs captivatingly and amplifies the overall funkiness of the flavor. The taste is kind of reminiscent of miso soup with a splash crude oil. That might not sound appealing, but the cultivar is an enjoyable smoke with all of its raunchiness. It leaves a smooth earthy and herbal aftertaste with a touch of musty funk on the tongue.
The effect on the Goombay is noteworthy. It provides a powerful cerebral high that is uplifting and euphoric, as well as some light physiological effects. The flower is soft to the touch, not overly sticky, and somewhat fluffy when broken up. It produces a moderate amount of both large and fine grained kief when ground.
